Naming
"ufgrichtet": Upright in Body and Spirit
In my practice 'upgrichtet', the term 'uprighting' has two meanings: a physical one and a metaphorical one.
Why Swiss German? The use of dialect adds a cozy and slightly cheeky touch to the name, which, to my ears, sounds more harmonious and appropriate than the German 'aufgerichtet'. Last but not least, Swiss German is my mother tongue and stands for authenticity.
Uprightness in Visuals: The 'ufgrichtet' Logo
The "ufgrichtet" logo visualises the ambiguity of physical and inner uprightness. The dynamic figure moves effortlessly within the force of gravity, radiating energy and lightness. The U-shaped pelvis is a central key to physical uprightness - it represents the entire upper body and forms the first letter of the text logo. The arrow pointing upwards in the logo symbolises the normal force, which acts as a counter-reaction to gravity and supports the uprightness of the figure.
The open elliptical shape at the top, which frames the text and the figure, symbolises other relevant aspects of the method and complementary therapy. Firstly, the human being is seen as a whole, a unity of body, mind and spirit in interaction with the social environment. Secondly, the figure stretches between earth and space - the earth providing firm support while the sky allows for growth.
Overall, the logo reflects the guiding principles of "ufgrichtet": wholeness and the harmonious combination of physical and inner uprightness.
